Some antivirus programs wrongly delete protected game files while the archive is being extracted. Do these 3 steps first:

1. Create an empty folder outside Program Files, for example C:\Games\Exodus2.
2. Open Windows Security › Virus & threat protection › Manage settings › Exclusions › Add or remove exclusions › Add an exclusion › Folder, and choose that folder. Using another antivirus? Add the same folder to its exceptions.
3. Extract the downloaded .rar into that folder with WinRAR or 7-Zip — the most reliable way (Windows 10 cannot open .rar files by itself).

Then start the game with the Exodus2 launcher in that folder — it checks for updates and patches the game for you.
